[求助]FC3字体求解！！

前几天把机器全格了只装了个FC3
觉得字体上还有点问题
之前我写过一篇FC3安装的帖子（原文见 http://www.wait4c.com/message.asp?id=370036 ）
但是字体方面还是偷了点懒没有搞好（现在自己用的也很不爽-_-#）
按照那个修改方法（一会去贴回来）

    在 /etc/fonts/font.conf 里的

之前加上:
        <match target="font">
                <test name="family">
                        <string>SimSun</string>

                        <bool>false</bool>
                </edit>
        </match>

中英文虽然都能清楚显示不发虚
但是英文表现不佳：文字不够平滑，有破碎感
后按SLW教的办法修改后并不起作用（但在他的Debian上表现很好，中文用Simsum，英文用的Tahoma）
英文仍然发虚
具体修改方法如下：
在 /etc/fonts/fonts.config 文件中的每一个有如下代码

      <alias>
<family>Bitstream Vera Serif</family>
<family>Times</family>
<family>Times New Roman</family>
<family>Nimbus Roman No9 L</family>
<family>Luxi Serif</family>
<family>Kochi Mincho</family>
<family>AR PL SungtiL GB</family>

<default><family>serif</family></default>

的前面加上一段使之变为：

       <alias>
<family>SimSum</family>
<family>Tahoma</family>

<family>Times New Roman</family>
<family>Nimbus Roman No9 L</family>
<family>Luxi Serif</family>
<family>Kochi Mincho</family>
<family>AR PL SungtiL GB</family>
<family>AR PL Mingti2L Big5</family>
<family>Baekmuk Batang</family>
<default><family>serif</family></default>
</alias>

这样的话，中文会使用Simsum，但英文也是用的Simsum而且发虚

请教各位高手，这是什么原因，怎么处理，小弟在此叩谢

哇咔咔，GFTP搞定了，在网上都只是说改Remote_charsets=xxxx (gb2312)

我的机器上helvetica好像显示为 hlv 字体挺好看的：）

先改一下，现在偶用的是在网上找的一个免费的字体，中英文都有，挺清楚的。

更改/etc/fonts 下的fonts.conf文件后 执行

# fc-cache .--force

试试,如果没有helvetica, 就用 Luxi Serif等等 觉得好看的都可以 --------------------

I don't have the font Helvetica in my font list
but I can find this name in the fonts.conf !!! --------------------            [a=http://spaces.msn.com/members/go2west/]真空.世界都是真空-Go2west&#8482;[/a]

放在
<family>Luxi Serif> </family> 后面
<family> AR PL SungtiL GB 前面

将系统字体改成:Helvetica 就行了 英文没必要用Thamo
说明:  simsun 的英文是垃圾 simsun 要放在好的英文的后面,
         AR PL sungti 和Mingti 是台湾出的垃圾中文字体 simsun 放它前面

还有一个问题：

由于我的locale使用UTF-8
在访问FTP服务器时中文显示不出来（或乱码）
